“The Truth of Freedom: Resiliance Redifined” pays tribute to Juneteenth, the national holiday commemorating news of the Emancipation Proclamation reaching the last of enslaved Africans in 1865, two years after it was issued.

Now in its fourth year,”The Truth of Freedom: Resiliance Redifined” centers on the transformative power of creativity as a tool for healing and social change. Taking its lead from the Black Arts Movement which is celebrating its 60th year in 2025, Resilience Redefined explores how cultural expression can envision bold new futures through contemporary image, text, and technology.

This years artist includes Kayla Allen, Kat Fitzpatrick, D. Del Reverda-Jennings, Cierra Johnson, Krystal Mobley, Charlotte L. Brown-Parrott, Tiarah Porter, Anthony T-Rad Radford, Rhonda Seward, Dana Powell-Smith, Tania Michelle Wineglass, and Dejuan Wortham.

At a time when communities seek clarity and cohesion, this exhibition reaffirms art’s unique power to build understanding and invites not just observation, but engagement..
